History of HFMA

1965 HFMA formed with Maurice Hanssen as Chairman and Ken Rusby as Secretary

1968 Maurice Hanssen is voted President of the HFMA

1978 The HFMA Code of Advertising Practice (CAP) division is formed

1985 HFMA recommends Upper Safe Levels for vitamins and minerals

1995 Dame Barbara Cartland is the first recipient of HFMA Award of Honour

1996 HFMA Award of Honour goes to Ian Martin
1996 Penny Viner becomes the first Director of HFMA

1997 Guidelines for Good Manufacturing Practice published by the HFMA
1997 HFMA Award of Honour goes to Roger G Lane

1998 Code of Advertising Practice becomes LAPAD - Labelling, Advertising and Promotion Advice
